Massena’s Veterans Day Speaker Tells the Story of the Organization of Disabled American Veterans | St. Lawrence County

MASSENA – In recognition of Veterans Day, the guest speaker at the Massena Veterans Day Ceremony shared the story of an organization that has played an important role in helping military veterans – Disabled American Veterans.

“More than a century ago, DAV was just beginning its journey. Our founder, World War I veteran Justice Robert Marx, was beginning to shape an organization that would affect the lives of countless veterans and their families for generations to come,” said Fred L. Cockayne, Commanding Officer of the chapter 171 of Massena’s DAV.
