CHICAGO, July 6, 2022 (Newswire.com) –
Untreated trauma, whether chronic or acute, damages the brain, physical health and ability to sustain relationships. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is pervasive and knows no boundaries – it does not discriminate. By approaching PTSD as a biological injury, patients are able to CURE an injured sympathetic nervous system, RESTORE a better quality of life, and ERADICATE post-traumatic stress symptoms. Clear PTSD Now aims to help patients do just that.
Founded in 2009, Erase PTSD Now is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing PTSD awareness and research. The organization also serves to bring hope to trauma survivors by removing financial barriers to the Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) procedure. Currently not covered by insurance, Erase PTSD Now facilitates fundraising opportunities in which donors can sponsor GBS treatments for patients in need.
Although used for pain management since 1925, a Ukrainian-born, Chicago-based anesthesiologist and pain specialist, Dr Eugene Lipov, MD has adopted GBS for the treatment of PTSD and has been successfully treating patients since 2006. The procedure delivers ultrasound-guided injections of local anesthetic into the stellate ganglion, a nerve bundle in the neck, to reset the combat system /leakage of a patient to his pre-traumatic state. According to Dr. Lipov, the treatment has been remarkably successful in patients dealing with PTSD, including sexual assault survivors, veterans and others who have experienced extreme trauma.
“There is no longer any need to struggle with PTSD when the symptoms can be treated with this minimally invasive procedure that takes just minutes and can take effect in as little as half an hour,” Dr. Lipov said. “Our goal now is to bring this life-saving treatment to as many patients as possible, including those who cannot afford it.”
Those interested in offering support should not ask how much to give, but rather how many lives they can save.
