SpartanNash Foundation Raises $330,000 for Veteran Service Organizations

The SpartanNash Foundation has raised $330,000 for three separate organizations serving veterans through its latest retail sales analytics campaign.

The Byron Center-based charity arm of SpartanNash said last week that it had raised the sum – which will be split equally between Team Red, White & Blue, Operation Homefront and Honor and Remember – through a donation drive between June 30 and July 13.

“As the leading distributor of groceries to U.S. military commissioners and exchanges around the world, SpartanNash sees firsthand the sacrifices our service members make every day to protect our freedoms,” said David Sisk, vice president. senior and president of SpartanNash’s military division. “We are proud to join our patriotic partners in supporting these heroes in the communities we serve.”

Between June 30 and July 13, store customers who visited a SpartanNash-owned retail store or fuel center had the option to donate $1, $5, or $10 to any checkout or round their total to the nearest dollar in support of Team RWB, Operation Homefront and Honor and Remember. More than 145 stores participated in the foundation’s analysis, primarily under the Family Fare, D&W Fresh Market, VG’s Grocery and Dan’s Supermarket banners.

“In addition to this fundraiser, SpartanNash provides financial support, product donations, and volunteer hours to military and veteran organizations throughout the year. SpartanNash has also been recognized as a supportive employer. to service members and veterans,” Sisk said.

Since 2016, The SpartanNash Foundation has raised and awarded more than $1.7 million to its Patriotic Partners through fundraising campaigns benefiting veteran service organizations including Give an Hour, Fisher House Foundation, Blue Star Mothers of America and Disabled Veterans National Foundation.
