Swansea Veterans Services is encouraging residents to attend the next annual Veterans Meat Supper fundraiser

SWANSEA – Swansea Director of Veterans Services Kevin Serpa would like to share information regarding the upcoming First Christian Congregational Church Veterans Meat Pie Dinner fundraiser.

On Friday, November 5 from 4-7:30 p.m., the First Christian Congregational Church will host its 14th Annual Veterans Meat Supper fundraiser in honor of Swansea veterans past and present. Residents should note that This year, the Veterans meat pie dinner will be take-out only.

Community members should call the First Christian Congregational Church at 508-673-7179 by Monday, November 1 to book a pickup time. Pickup times at First Christian Congregational Church, 1113 GAR Highway (corner of Maple Avenue and Route 6), are 4:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m.

The donation-only fundraising dinner includes a quarter meat pie, whipped potatoes, gravy, vegetables, a bun and dessert. Cash and check donations will be accepted.

“On behalf of the City of Swansea, I would like to thank the church and all those who help make this annual event possible,” Principal Serpa said.

Donations received by the Church will be used to help Swansea veterans and their families.
