Telecommunications industry veteran David Joss has joined SaaS platform provider Prvidr as its new CEO as the company further expands its customer base and verticals.
Joss’ most recent role before joining Prvidr was as CEO of Southern Phone, where he led the business until it was sold to AGL in 2019. He was also previously CEO of Bendigo Bank Telco, CEO of Community Telco Australia and executive at Singtel Optus.
Prvidr General Manager Matt Goodlet said that experience makes David Joss “uniquely qualified” to lead Prvidr.
“David’s rich heritage in building virtual brands in the banking, telecommunications, retail and energy industries are the exact skills needed to operate and grow Prvidr,” said Goodlet.
“There simply isn’t a better CEO candidate and we’re thrilled to have him join us.”
Joss said he was delighted to join the Prvidr team at this pivotal moment.
“I look forward to leading the growth of the business and building on the impressive foundation that has been laid,” he said.
Joss said there are rich opportunities in the market for Prvidr and he has an important role to play in helping businesses enable their adjacencies and support customers.
“Telecom operators will enter the energy business, energy operators will enter telecom, and both should provide their customers with appropriate cloud services. It’s about leveraging the customer relationship and bringing multiple products together in one simple and effective channel. Enabling MPRs to realize this vision of a single-client, multi-service business model is a complex undertaking, but something Prvidr has a proven track record.
“My membership in Prvidr is as much a vote of confidence in the business and technology platform the team has built over the past seven years, as it is in the market opportunity,” Joss said.
Launched in 2015, Prvidr says it has grown rapidly from five employees to more than sixty employees, and from three Australian customers to more than fifteen customers across Asia-Pacific.
More recently, Prvidr has collaborated with SingTel Optus to enable both major retail brands to launch new telecommunications products and services, as well as new market entrants to “quickly and cost-effectively enter new new vertical markets such as telecommunications”.
Prvidr currently supports home brands, such as Coles and Catch.com.au, as well as “unique multi-brand services” at Macquarie Telecom, Moose Mobile and Vaya/Amaysim.
